History shouldn’t be educated by a country unit.

Since putting it in ancient history above all, I shouldn’t do by shape such as “Japanese history” and “French history” actually.

For example since putting it in ancient northeast Asia, there was gentle coalition government at reach from the part of Korean Peninsula to the Japanese one, and state like special “Korea” and “Japan” and the border couldn’t exist. And much man wasn’t also the reason which has strong belonging consciousness in something as  state until he entered in the modern times. Own recognition that I say “We’re ○○people.” isn’t the after 19th century one. Because antiquity and the Middle Ages are judged by modern recognition, even if I hear that medieval Japanese warrior power and merchants make a large profit at Chinese continent, I don’t come tightly.

This is also conspicuous in Japan, but it’s happened to see much that history education becomes the means of the nation state integration. There is  person who aims at uplift of nationalism of course, too, but a country principle-like historical perspective soaks and is also crowded in the quite conscientious people.

From now on, history education, “one national history”, it should be advanced by division such as “world history” and “East Asia social history” “European Mediterranean history”.

歴史の教育は一国単位で行うべきではない。

とりわけ古代史においては実は「日本史」とか「フランス史」というような形で行うべきではない。

たとえば、古代の北東アジアにおいては、朝鮮半島の一部から日本列島のまでの範囲でゆるやかな連合政権があり、特段「朝鮮」や「日本」のような国家や国境などは存在しえなかったのである。そして、近代に入るまでは、多くの人間は国家というものに強い帰属意識を持っているわけでもなかった。「私たちは○○人だ」という自己認識は19世紀以降のものでしかない。近代の認識で、古代や中世をみるから、中世の日本の武士勢力や商人たちが中国大陸などで大儲けするということを聞いてもピンとこない。

これは日本でも顕著だが、歴史教育が、国民国家統合の手段になっていることが多々見受けられる。もちろんナショナリズムの高揚を狙う者もいるが、かなり良心的な人々の中にも一国主義的な歴史観は浸み込んでいる。

今後は歴史教育は「一国史」ではなく、「世界史」と「東アジア社会史」「ヨーロッパ・地中海史」というような区分けで進めていくべきである。

What was first language that humanity acquired? Current human language is in accordance with the rule of grammar, it conveys information I want to convey, but it took time before these rules were completed. When humanity trying to communicate with each other, what you have to communicate in a straight forward way is what you want to convey. The thing you want to convey, that is, it is somehow “name”. For example, it is name of the prey that they were eating. And it is “name” of group that we communicate with, that is to say, fellows. It was some action next. Combining words such as “run” and “run away” with “name” will complete sentence “prey went running”.

Although the above is one example, at beginning, we talked about information we wanted to tell.

人類が獲得した最初の言語はどういうものだったのだろうか。

現在の人類の言語は文法という規則にのっとり、自分が伝えたい情報を伝えるのであるが、こうした規則が出来上がるまでには時間がかかった。

相互に人類同士がコミュニケーションを行おうとしたとき、まっさきに伝えなくてはならないものは、自分が伝えたいことそのものであろう。

伝えたいことそのもの、つまりそれはなにかしらの「名前」である。

たとえば、自分たちが食べていた獲物の名前である。そして自分たちがコミュニケ―ションを行う対象、つまり仲間の「名前」である。

次になんらかの動作である。「走る」「逃げる」というような言葉と「名前」を組み合わせて伝えれば、「獲物が走っていった」という文章が完成する。

以上のことは一つの例ではあるが、最初は、自分たちが伝えたい情報を連ねて話していたわけである。

Human beings are only organisms that have become top of food chain in living world without having excellent fangs and excellent leg strength. In any case, creature standing attop of the food chain is extremely weak to change in environment. And actually, civilization of human beings has not yet experienced full-scale ice age. And the ice age certainly comes.

To be in the ice age is not only that temperature drops but also that living community on which humankind has relied has drastically changed, and many living things are extinct. If mankind would like to survive in this kind of environment in future, first build more efficient energy society. And to create　social structure that is difficult for conflict to occur. To do that, capitalism should leave. However, food alone cannot be solved on Earth. And food shortage will cause conflict, no matter how much human society is well organized. That’s why it would be better for us to seriously consider moving the place of survival outside the earth. Actually, there are people who seriously explored migration to space in past 100 years, but we should evaluate  work of those people firmly and discuss widely. In order for us to survive further, we should create  society that is suitable for jumping directly into the universe.

人類は優れた牙も優れた脚力も持たずに生物界において食物連鎖の頂点になった唯一の生物である。いずれにせよ食物連鎖の頂点に立つ生物は、環境の変化にはきわめて弱いものである。そして、実は今の人類の文明はまだ本格的な氷河期を経験していない。そして氷河期は必ずやってくる。

氷河期になるということは、単に気温が下がるだけではなく、そのことによって人類が依拠してきた生物界が激変し、多くの生物が絶滅するということである。

もし人類が今のような環境でこれからも生存したければ、まずより効率的なエネルギー社会を構築すること。そして争いの起りにくい社会構造をつくること。そのためには資本主義は離脱すべきである。

ただ、食料だけは地球上では解決できない。そして食糧不足は、人類がどれだけ社会の仕組みをうまく整えても、争いの原因になってしまう。

だからこそ、人類は地球の外に生存の場所を移すことを真剣に考えたほうがよいだろう。

実は、ここ100年の間に真剣に宇宙への移住を模索した人々はいるが、そうした人々の仕事をしっかりと評価し、広く議論していくべきである。人類がこの先生存するには、宇宙の中に直接飛び込んでいくにふさわしい社会をつくるべきである。

Why did humans increase number of individuals, despite fact that there are many risk factors to live on in nature. Even creatures other than human beings, in such case seeds that could acquire other abilities will survive.

Then, what kind of ability did mankind acquire? In case of mankind, it was not to strengthen body, it was complex society, spirit world, efficient communication of information by language, and so on. By the way, what about human race other than Homo sapiens was never dramatically worse than direct ancestry of present human beings tens of thousands of years ago. Until  certain period of time Neanderthals and culture of the ancestors of the present human beings were not so different.

Moreover, their body was stronger than current human race. Among group of reality human beings scattered from Africa, there were also extinct groups. And Neanderthals who had lived in that area continued to survive even after the living human race who migrated to the area has become extinct. In other words, Neanderthal people lived stronger than current human beings in aspect.

It was only “little difference” that divided their destiny. Neanderthal people also had acomplex society, had spiritual world, and had languages. And stoneware production was also skillful. However, for fields that are not directly involved in material production, they did not have as much interest as the current human beings. For example, even if we make stoneware, there are only human beings of present kind who will decorate irrespective of the performance of stoneware. This is part of spiritual world of mankind. And reality human beings have expressed their spiritual world in various forms. Even though current human beings did such various expression activities, initially they did not produce dramatic difference between Neanderthal people and current human race. Even if living humans decorate stone tools or write mural paintings, there is no immediate difference between these two species when hunting and gathering in everyday life.

自然で生きていく上でリスクとなる要素がたくさんあるにもかかわらず、人間はなぜ個体数を増やせたのか。人間以外の生物もそうだが、こういう場合、別の能力を獲得することができた種が生き残っていく。

では、人類はどういった能力を獲得したのか。

人類の場合、それは身体を強くするのではなく、複雑な社会、精神世界、言語による効率的な情報伝達などであった。

ちなみに、ホモ・サピエンス以外の人類はどうだったかといえば、決して劇的に数万年前の現生人類の直接の祖先より能力が劣っていたのかといえばそうではない。ある時期までネアンデルタール人と現生人類の祖先の文化はそれほど差はなかった。しかも現生人類よりも身体は屈強であった。アフリカから散らばった現生人類の一群の中にも、絶滅したグループもあった。そしてその地域に住み着いていたネアンデルタール人は、その地域に移住した現生人類が絶滅した後も生存し続けたのである。つまり、局面においてはネアンデルタール人のほうが、現生人類より強く生きられたことすらあったのである。

彼らの運命を分けたのは「ほんの少しの差」でしかなかった。ネアンデルタール人もまた複雑な社会をもち、精神世界を持っていたし、言語も持っていた。そして石器製作も巧みであった。しかし、物質的生産に直接かかわりのない分野については彼らは現生人類ほど強い関心を持たなかった。

たとえば、石器をつくるにしても、石器の性能にかかわりのない装飾を施すような人類は現生人類しかないない。これは人類の精神世界の一端である。そして現生人類はその精神世界を様々な形で表現し始めた。

現生人類が、このような様々な表現活動を行ったとしても最初は、さほどネアンデルタール人と現生人類との間に劇的な差を生むものではなかった。現生人類が石器に装飾をほどこしても、壁画を書いたとしても、日々の生活において狩猟採集を行う際にはすぐに、この二つの種の間に差は生まれ得ない。

Meaning of word “evolution” is not simple.

Mankind has lost ability to climb trees when apes and mankind diverge and differentiate as seeds. There is also no need to climb trees, so force of forefoot has become very weak.

Human being who just got off tree and fought biped was very weak and very few individuals in nature, without nails and fangs that could run fast, no power to climb trees, very powerful. Therefore, we had to live in such a place as to be hidden like cave.

Evolution in this way means simply that human intelligence gets bigger, human beings can do more than it is, and that human beings acquired ability to conform nature is not. Rather, humans have changed their bodies in direction that is not a good idea for living in nature.

For example, since brain is organ that uses a lot of energy, animals other than humans have genes that suppress size of brain. Human lost this gene 2.6 million years ago, brain became bigger. And that means that human beings must acquire more energy. At first glance, human evolution often carries risks on living in nature.

「進化」という言葉の意味は単純ではない。

人類は、類人猿と人類とが分岐し、種として分化していくときに、木に登る能力をなくした。また木に登る必要もないので、前足の力もきわめて弱くなった。

木から降り、二足歩行をしたばかりの人類は、自然界では、爪も牙も早く走れる足も、木に登る力もない、きわめて虚弱で、しかも個体数の少ない種族であった。だから、洞窟のようなところに隠れるように暮らすしかなかったのである。

このように進化とは、単純に人間の知能が大きくなって、人間がそれまでよりも多くのことを行えるようになったとか、人間が自然を従わせる能力を獲得したとかいうことを意味するのではない。むしろ、人間は、自然の中で生きていく上では決し得策ではない方向に自らの体を変化させてきた。

たとえば脳は、多大なエネルギーを使う器官なので、人間以外の動物は、脳の大きさを抑制する遺伝子を持っている。人間は260万年前にこの遺伝子を失い、脳が大きくなっていった。そしてそのことは、より多くのエネルギーを獲得しなければならないことを意味している。一見すると、人間の進化とは、自然の中で生きる上ではリスクを背負うことが多かったのである。

Unicellular organisms will not die without dramatic environmental changes. To be precise, a single cell organism repeats constant cell division and cannot determine death of an individual.

On other hand, multicellular organisms have predetermined number of cell divisions, and cells cannot live beyond that number. Instead, by sexual reproduction, seeds are preserved by generating new combination of genes.

Throwing away elderly immortality, life has complex body, eventually animals have had complex thoughts. Acquisition of “death” by life means cornerstone of the prosperity of life.

単細胞生物は、劇的な環境の変動がなくては死ぬことはない。正確にいうなら単細胞生物は絶えざる細胞分裂を繰り返し、個体の死を確定できないのである。

さて、これに対して多細胞生物は細胞分裂の回数はあらかじめ決められていて、その回数を超えて細胞は生きられない。その代り、有性生殖によって、新しい組み合わせの遺伝子を生みだすことで種は保存される。不老不死を捨てて、生命は複雑な身体を持ち、やがて動物は複雑な思考を持つにいたったのである。生命による「死」の獲得は、生命の大繁栄の礎を意味するのである。
